Phenolic Coatings

Do you need a coating for corrosive atmospheres? May be a baked phenolic coating will add enough protection for your part. Baked phenolic coatings are corrosion resistant to most chemicals except strong alkalies and strong oxidizers as well as wet bromine, chlorine and fluorine. The coating will function up to 400°F and has good abrasion resistance.

This coating lends its self to exhaust fans, tank linings, fume hoods, ductwork, some heat exchangers and other products.

There is also an air-dry version. The air-dry coating does not have as good of corrosion resistance as the baked version, but has advantages such as more application methods and no bake schedule.

Two of the best known manufacturers of phenolic coatings are Plasite® by Carboline Protective Coatings and Linings and Heresite® by Heresite Protective Coatings. We have been applying both for over 30 years.
